Happy 2012!!

Well, much has happened since this past October, and for those of you who don't follow me on Facebook...PLEASE friend me and get connected!! I post a lot more there than on my blog, and for that, I am sorry for neglecting my blog!

So a brief "catching up" is in order.

BWYAA (Big Walnut Youth Athletic Association), has been my "Saturday" home for about 10 -11 years now. Clayton started playing flag football when he was 5 years old, and I beganphotographing the league when he was 7 or 8. Over the years, I began getting "action shots" of these football players and cheerleaders. Sunbury is a great community, and I love these kids and this football program, as it is where Clayton began his football career. Loadsof memories and while Clayton no longer plays football, I am enjoying the memories I capture for these kids still today. So for those seniors and families that I try and schedule in between football games on Saturday's during prime fall season, you'll see why I hate to miss any of this action. Just a few images from our "mud bowl" games on September 24th. Oh...how I LOVE football!! This day was any photographer's dream for pictures.

So congrats to the class of 2011. You made it. Can you believe its over? I can hardly believe it myself, that our Andrew is 19, graduated from high school, and now on to the next phase of life. HAPPY 2011!!

Oh my goodness, have I ever lost track! I try to keep up with Facebook posts, updating my website, and I have completed neglected my blog. I am so sorry, and wanted to wish you all a happy 2011. We were able for the first time in over 2 years, to take a couple of quick family photos for our Christmas card this year. So, just thought I'd start the year off right by posting my beautiful family. I love them all, and so thankful God gave me each one of them!

SIDERS SENIORS

Beaches, trucks and ballerinas.....just a few of the seniors "likes" that I have liked photographing. Nathan with his scuba gear, and wakeboard, Elijah with his infamous truck, and Megan with her dance. Such a wide variety of their personalities, and I just wanted to showcase some of their images with their interests. Just to let you know, I am currently photographing the outdoor sessions of their portfolio at a different location for each senior. A lot of you have asked if that is difficult. Why yes, it is, because it lengthens the session time, but my goal is for you to have your own unique, custom designed session. Why is that such a big deal? I want for you to have your own location, so that when you share your images with your friends and family, everyone will be amazed at the variety of your images, and that they won't look the same for any one senior. It has been challenging, but loads of fun, and I believe the results are worth it. Will I go to your favorite location? Absolutely!! Give me a call and we'll get you scheduled.

SENIOR BOYS!

I grew up with three older brothers, and Steve and I have two boys, so I feel very comfortable photographing these young men, and have even shed a tear when I'm done. I've known these kids for 12 years or more, and they have grown up with our Andrew. So forgive me boys (men), for being so emotional, but I just can't express how photographing you for your senior year, brings so much happiness to my world, and seeing how you all have grown into the men that you are! As most of you know, this year of graduating seniors is very special to me, as my first son will be graduating in 2011. I have enjoyed the few seniors I have been privileged to photograph so far, and am looking forward to those coming up to my place in the next few months. Dylan started my "male" seniors with more than I could have imagined. This guy could model for any company out there, and do quite well. We had a ball, and also glad he's one of my boy's long time best friends. Good luck Dylan, Mama Lisa is proud of you!

2011 SENIORS!!

I can hardly believe this is happening in my life,

but 2011 is when our first son, Andrew, graduates

from Worthington Christian High School!!

This is going to be a very bittersweet year, but the

thing I am pumped up about is the seniors that are

going to experience a SIDERS SENIOR SESSION!

I'm blowing the sessions out of the water, and I had

my very first customer this past weekend, and I think

you'll agree that we're pulling out all the stops!! I must

admit that I wanted to photograph my own son as my

"FIRST" 2011 senior, but he is away on a missions trip.

What better person to photograph, than my very own

cousin, Renee. Mom "Rhonda" decided that she wants

a 4 SEASONS photo session. First season~summer, and

we're going to keep getting better and better. You can book

SUMMER WEDDINGS!!

Gotta love taking wedding pictures at The River Club, downtown Columbus. I don't photograph a ton of weddings, so when I do, I absolutely love the great venues, but especially love the outdoor weddings! Abby is the daughter to friends of ours, and I had the pleasure of meeting her a couple of times, but really got to know her and new husband by photographing their

wedding! She is completely laid back, Josh forgot something pretty major when we were getting ready to photograph the two of them together, and I kept Abby busy taking pix. When he arrived back to the River Club with the rings, well-it worked out perfectly! Take a sneak

2010 SENIORS!!

Yes, I am squeezing in a few more seniors who are set to graduate in June! These pictures of J. are great. We had so much fun!! I had driven underneath this bridge in Sunbury and said to

myself, "self-I want to do a senior picture there". Wah lah....2 days later, J.'s Mom called and wanted me to photograph her daughter, and I knew right where I wanted to go!! BEAUTIFUL GIRL!!

BUCKEYE FLYERS ROCK!

So this past Saturday, I had the privilege of photographing the Buckeye Flyers. You may ask, what is a Buckeye Flyer? Well, they are a team of athletes that are amazing at trampoline and tumbling and our Andrew used to compete on their team (back in the day). I truly do miss watching him compete, because he is so tall and to watch him flip backwards through the air, was a lot of fun and he would just glide through the air. These kids dedicate several hours a week to practice their skills and their muscle toned bodies are incredible. Check out a couple of the team photos that I did, and a couple of the individual shots too!

Snow, snow and more snow!!

While central Ohio is getting dumped on with snow, I thought it would be great to take my boys out in the snow and grab some pictures of them. Well, they literally gave me 10 minutes of their precious time, and after I took some images, I realized I didn't really show the snow! SO, with another winter snowstorm about to hit, we will trek back out in the white fluff and grab some more pix. Check out what I did get though.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. RICH FALL COLORS!!!

OK, so Italy was fabulous, and I promise pictures will be posted soon! But I had to post these images of my friends~the Stimmel's. Ted (the Dad) was Clayton's football coach, and he and wife Laura, introduced all of us to "Big Walnut". Jordan (their sophomore son) and Clayton played football together and when I took action shots 7 years ago, I showed them to Ted and he said, "wow, you should be a photographer"! Well, he soon found out that I was, and I had the privilege of photographing their family. Fast forward 7 years, and its time to "re-enact" that same family photo. Are you kidding? No....the one of the the kids laying on Ted & Laura's back? Yeap, that's the one! I hope they love it.....and hope you do too!!

MAJOR TRAVEL PLANS!!!

That's right! I am leaving next week for one exciting 9 day work week. OK, so I'm not working all 9 days, but the beauty of it, is that I was asked to go to Naples, ITALY with my friends David & Karla (www.bankspix.com), and my hubby gets to go along too! He will be in charge of carrying my bags!! ha ha!! Seriously though, this is such an "opportunity of a lifetime" and I am so blessed and thankful for getting this chance to take some incredible images for a group (large group) of employees who won this trip. We will be shooting in Naples, but prior to our arrival in Naples we will spend 3 days in Rome. Ah, I STILL can't believe it!!! I have SO much to do, so I just wanted to let you all know that if you can't get in touch with me, you will now know why!!! Will post pictures while we're there, if we're not all fighting over David's laptop!

SIDERS SENIORS!!

Here are a couple of more seniors that I shot earlier this month. Since I have two boys of my own, I really enjoy hanging out with "the guys", and love how most of them come into the session with the attitude that they're doing this FOR MOM!! Within about 10 minutes, they really do get into it, and by the end of the session, they're relaxed, comfortable and really enjoy their senior experience!! This first boy is Paul and he is graduating from WCS (Worthington Christian) next year, and the second boy is Zack. He is a football and rugby player, and I actually started shooting him when he was in elementary school for BWYAA football. So its great to see this "kids" graduate and grow up to be the young adults that they are. Good Luck Paul and Zack!!

FULL SWING...!

Yes! Let the senior photography begin!! We are definitely in full swing with senior photography for our 2010 seniors. This gal Lindzy was just terrific in planning some different locations for her first session. Yes~that's right, her first session. We started off at her place, and then headed out to Cherry Valley Lodge. Beautiful!! Her second session will be with curly hair and she will come to my place for some indoor shots and more "on location" photography. While I am photographing seniors currently, football season has begun, and don't forget to book your family sessions for September and October. Prime time fall foliage!!

ACTION BEGINS!!

August is just the beginning of my busiest time of the year!! With photographing football leagues, and senior portraits, I am also gearing up for a special photo opportunity that will be held in November. It is a fundraiser for my 17 year son Andrew, who is planning a marine biology trip in April of 2010 to Roatan Island, Honduras!! He is so excited, and his excitement is contagious. I have always wanted to hold this special photo op, and figured there was no time like the present. So stay tuned for details to be coming out in September!! HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!

Celebrate our country's independence!! So, today I'm off to photograph 2 of my favorite little girls who are cousins, Lily and Avery. Avery just turned 1, last month, and I have photographed Lily since she was 1, and she is now 4 and its time for summer pictures. I am so thankful that these Moms see the value in having their little girls photographed and documenting at least yearly photos. I had to show you Avery's pictures from last month for this huge milestone of a birthday. Ah, the celebration of life! Happy Birthday Avery and Happy Independence Day AMERICA!!

SQUIRE PARSONS AND COMPANY

Ohio Christian University located in Circleville, Ohio, held their denomination's 100 year anniversary celebration last night! I was honored to photograph the group that sang at the event. Squire Parsons has been singing for over 30 years, and my friend Greg Fox asked me to take some images for them. Please visit their website at www.squireparsons.com to check out their schedule. WHAT IS HAPPENING???

I know, I know!! May is just getting as busy as December, and I am so sorry I haven't kept up

with my blog. I'm glad you are interested in what is happening with me, and even happier you are asking me...what is happening? I will tell you....May is the last month of school for our boys, and this August, both of our boys will be in high school. Those of you who don't yet have kids in high school.....all I can say is don't blink. It goes that fast. Our Andrew will be a junior, and Clayton a freshman, and when I think of the last 2 years, it doesn't seem possible that Andrew only has two years left of high school. I love summer, and I love having my boys at home. I'm actually wishing we would've had more, cause these two boys that we are blessed with have been so much fun, and are truly blessings to Steve and me.

Oh right, back to business. I have been finishing up printing orders for seniors graduation parties and am getting more calls for parents milestone anniversaries, and family reunions. I have had a ball this past May, and one of my favorite pictures is another blessing in the life of a family. I am going to limit their photo session to just one image, and hope that you...."get the picture".

OHIO SPORTS PLUS MAY CLASSIC!!

May 1st-3rd was a very exciting weekend. We have just finished photographing 40 games of AAU basketball held this past weekend at Westerville North High School and Westerville Heritage Middle School. Whew!! The competition was fierce and impressive as kids from central Ohio, Dayton and Canton convened upon these two campuses. Grades 5th - 12 grade competed and we are currently editing and downloading these images for you to view and purchase some great action shots. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!!!

Well, it was a great party and we had soooo much fun!!! We celebrated Dad's 80th birthday at the Everal Barn in Westerville this past Friday night. We had almost 90 people in attendance, and I had an absolute riot with my Dad!! Great memories and the only downside for me was that I didn't hire a photographer to take pictures!!! Let that be a LESSON to EVERYONE!!! Don't even begin to think that you're going to be able to take pictures at your very special event, because it just doesn't happen. While I did get "SOME" shots, not nearly what should have been taken and now I am really kickin' myself. The bad part is that not only do you hardly eat, you don't get to talk to everyone like you want to, and then you think, oh they're eating their dinner right now, so I will get their pictures as soon as they're done eating. Again, it just doesn't happen. That's why you hire a professional.

We had a trivia game on "How well do you know Joe", ballroom dancing, line dancing, rap...yummy lasagna from Monte Carlo Italian Kitchen and great family and friends. It was sooo fun and I am so happy we did it. Enjoy the few pictures that I did get!!

HAPPY EASTER!!!

We are heading up this evening to my in-laws for Easter. Steve's sister and family will be there, and my boys are so excited to see their cousins. I am excited to see everyone also, and I am getting ready now to bake my homemade rolls. Yes, homemade, with yeast!! My mom's recipe, and mine will NEVER be as good as hers, but they are a close second. Well, at least my family likes them. I love anything with bread, so I'm good. I hope and pray that you all have a very blessed Easter. This is the greatest celebration knowing that Christ has forgiven me of my sins, and I will live with him forever!! He died for all of us. Tomorrow we celebrate his resurrection!!

HAPPY 80TH BIRTHDAY TO MY DAD!!

Today is my Dad's 80th birthday, and I am happy to report that he is in great shape and we are having a big super birthday party bash next month! My parents have been in Florida for almost 3 months, so most of the planning has been completed as far as securing the party venue and the best DJ's around www.mrmrsdj.com.

The invitations have been sent out, and we are going for a "golf theme", as my Dad buys and sells used golf carts, as well as services several of his commercial rental properties. So although he is now officially 80 years old, he keeps moving and staying busy, while taking time out to come see his grandkids participate in their different activities. He says, "I just can't do as much as I used to",......well~ I have to remind him that he is much older now, and not really expected to maintain the lifestyle that he's used to!!

Here are some pictures that I took last year for Father's Day for Dad. I sure hope I get my parents' genes!!

PANCAKE DAY!!

Come out and have some pancakes!!! What???? No, I'm not making them, but come out this Saturday, March 7th to Buckeye Valley High School and support the Buckeye Valley Girls Softball Team. They are combining their craft show along with Pancake Day, and from what I hear, you don't want to miss this event!! The school is located at 679 Coover Road, Delaware, Ohio 43015. WCHS DRAMA!!!

THE DEATH AND LIFE OF LARRY BENSON

Worthington Christian High School just finished their winter performance of "The Death and

Life of Larry Benson". Our sophomore son Andrew, had a small but meaningful part in the play. Since he was a freshman, he has appeared in 4 out of 5 plays. It was a powerful, moving drama, that the students performed so incredibly well, that I just had to be a Mom and BRAG!! As my niece said, her favorite part was when Andrew appeared on stage!! Its nice to know that

someone else feels the same way as I do. He is shaking the hand of "Larry Benson" and is in the plaid shirt. Larry's girlfriend thought Larry had died in war, and she and "Bud", aka "Andrew" were engaged. It was interesting to see the reaction of our son, and I was thankful it was only a play!!

WINTER WONDERLAND

A couple of weeks ago I had the honor of photographing one of Andrew's friends from work, and while I wasn't sure Jumana wanted to go outside, the results were amazing. Freshly fallen snow, and her beautiful eyes and skintone, I just knew she would love the end results! With the snow falling again today, and most of the kids being out of school, now would be a perfect time to come on out to the country and capture some incredible snow shots! It doesn't have to just be for seniors....make it a welcome Valentine's Day Surprise for your honey!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAYTON!!!

Happy 1st birthday Payton!! For the past year, I have been photographing sweet pea, "Payton Reese" and she was born on the biggest party day of the year, December 31, 2007!! Her parents are Steve's cousin's son and daughter in law, and there is no question that this sweet baby girl came from her gorgeous parents because she looks just like Dane when he was little, and you can see so much of Mommy in her too.

Happy 2009 to all of you!! It has been crazy busy around the Siders house, and I am sorry I haven't been too faithful with my blog. Of course being a photographer means being there for family pictures for the Christmas season, and this year was no different! I enjoy our families getting together for the holidays, and I kinda feel like Santa myself, when I am photographing families just 4 days before Christmas!! When my friend Lisa called to find out if I would be willing to photograph her kids and stepdaughter for a special surprise for her husband, I just couldn't resist. Check out these adorable kids!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Happy 4th Birthday to my GREAT nephew~Lorne Michael Anderson, who actually turned 4 on December 19th!! Uncle Steve and Aunt Lisa bought him some spiderman pajamas, complete with webs, so now he can shoot like Spiderman,.....even while he sleeps!!!

Our boys were totally into "Spiderman" when they were young as well, and its so much fun to "relive" Spiderman with Lornie!

We were also blessed when Lorne and big brother Darrin (11) came over to our house to spend the night. The boys all had a ball being together, and we enjoyed a game of Scattergories with my nephew and his wife. (Mike & Brandy). Andrew received a waffle maker for Christmas, because he's been saying for at least a year now that we needed one. So....Santa brought Andrew his very own!! I tested out on everyone and my nephew Darrin says they are better than his Mom's! Yikes.....sorry Brandy~he's got to have ONE favorite thing about his Aunt Lisa!! HARD TO BELIEVE!

It is hard to believe when your own kids are growing up, getting through elementary school, now almost completely done with middle school and into high school. Yikes....! But when boys become young men and you are photographing these young men for their senior pictures, its

hard for me to believe that just 4 short years ago these young men were playing baseball with our youngest son Clayton. Let me introduce Blaine to you. Blaine is very special to me because we share the same birthday, so I never forget when he turns another year older! At age 13, Blaine stood about 5'8" and weighed probably 150 pounds. Let me introduce an even more

special young man to you, our youngest son Clayton. Clayton at age 9 stood about 3' 6" and weighed probably 60 pounds. Clayton has grown up playing baseball for the Buckeye Valley Youth Baseball Association, and this particular year, Clayton and Blaine both played, and played against each other. Blaine was a pitcher (an incredible player), and Clayton was up to bat. Every time Blaine pitched, Clayton would back up slightly, because that ball was coming

across the plate extremely fast. Steve and I would laugh and tell him to step up to the plate and hang in there. He looked at us as if he were saying, "are you crazy?" I don't remember if Clayton ever hit off of Blaine, (probably not), but I know for a fact Clayton caught a fly ball in center

field that Blaine hit, so it was quite exciting. After the game was over, I had to have a picture of Blaine and Clayton standing next to each other, and here is that picture!

I went through my photo archives and found it. Needless to say, here's my "little" Blaine who graduates in June from Buckeye Valley. He did awesome and I was honored to be able to photograph him.

FIRST SNOWFALL......

OK, so we woke up to a "dusting" of snow on our ground today here in Delaware. It was just that, a dusting.....

I love the first time the snow falls, how it quiets the ground and the noise outside. It is so peaceful. While we haven't had that first snow "fall", the dusting this morning was pleasant to look at.

I have been busy taking family pictures for Christmas cards, and while I can't really show them to you, we're running out of time to photograph families for card deadlines. So, make sure you call this week to get scheduled before the end of November. Of course we can still photograph your family for gift giving portraits, but the Christmas card deadline for submitting your orders is December 1st. Don't wait any longer to get scheduled!

We are looking forward to celebrate Thanksgiving next week with Steve's sister and most of their family, and Andrew's best friend and his family are coming over from Indiana. A total of 11 people, including my family will be here for dinner. I haven't made a turkey in probably 13 years, so I am SO EXCITED to prepare that turkey!! Hmmm.....maybe I will take pictures of the event!!!

LITTLE LEAGUE FOOTBALL SEASON ENDS!

Well, it is officially over for the 2008 little league football for Big Walnut. Last Saturday was Super Bowl and the final championship games for the Junior and Senior Divisions. Thanks to all of the parents who support this incredible football league. If you have a son or daughter who is even slightly interested in playing football or cheering from ages 5 - 6th grade, you want them to be at Big Walnut! Our youngest son Clayton, played in this league for 7 years. You learn the basic fundamentals of football and it has been so much fun watching these kids enjoy their game and cheering. Even though Clayton is no longer in this league, he truly misses the games at this field, and the people, just the whole atmosphere.

This year the junior division champs were the Broncos and I've posted just a couple of pictures from the games. The senior division champs were the Browns, and if the NFL Cleveland Browns could play anything like these boys did, well.....we might have a winning team! FALL DAYS!!

Well, last weekend sure seemed like it was prime weekend for fall colors, but I think that we are going to be able to squeak out another couple of weeks of beautiful color! Rest assured, this season has been quite busy, and NOT a lot of rest. But that's great because we're trying to get families and senior portraits taken with the beautiful color. I just had to share these images of some of the seniors I have been shooting. Lots of fun, personality and WOW factor! Pretty soon we will all be cozied up by the fire sipping hot chocolate!!

RACE RESULTS

OK, so I just logged onto the race results from the New Albany Walking Classic. My time was actually 1:25:05 for the 10k walk. I am very pleased with my results. My friend Linda finished the same time, however she placed 241 out of 1994 walkers, and I placed 249th out of 1994 walkers. In the female category I placed 166th out of 1584 females. Not bad for a first walk race!

October brings a whole new level to my business as I am still photographing seniors and families for fall colors. I'm squeezing people in here and there, so if you still want to have your family or senior photographed with the beautiful fall colors coming out, now is the time to book! Weekends are extremely limited right now, but just give me a call and we will work out a time that is good for you! New samples for Christmas cards have arrived as well, and they are joyous! Love the new designs!

NEW ALBANY WALKING CLASSIC

I did it!!! I completed the 10k walking classic yesterday morning, along with my friend Linda. Beautiful morning for a walk. The weather was cool and crisp when we arrived about 7:45 am, but by the time we started on our walk, it was quite warm! We finished in our own personal record time of 1 hour, 28 minutes and ....seconds. I'm not quite sure what our final time was, but it should be posted soon. We did very well for our first ever walk race. We received a medal at the finish line, and Linda indicated it was the first medal she had ever received, so she was proud of that, and rightly so! She lead the race ahead of me the entire time, and carefully planned our pace. It was great, and I must admit I am a little sore today, but am doing just fine.

After we completed the race, I headed over to Worthington Christian High School for the Columbus Crusaders Pasta Dinner. WOW!!! Load up on carbs after a race. It was great and I'm telling you it is the best past around. All you can eat salad, pasta, drink and dessert. Next fall, you will have to plan to come.

After I hung out for the Silent Auction, I headed home to photograph sweet Hannah for her senior pictures. Hannah, a senior at Worthington Kilbourne was fun and brought lots of outfits. Look for her pictures soon! They turned out fabulous, and she was glad to be done when we finished up.

After photographing Hannah, well.....an evening at home resting and doing laundry. It was a long day for sure! Today, I am playing "catch-up" and trying to get pictures downloaded from taking action shots on Saturday at JR Smith Park for the BWYAA football league.

WIND STORM

We had scheduled a cookout for Sunday afternoon, right about 3pm. I cancelled it after looking at the weather forecast, and boy am I glad I did! The aftermath of Hurricane Ike hit central Columbus area, and we were without power for only 10-12 hours. Well, we weren't actually without power because years ago Steve had wired our house to hook up a generator, because

we do lose power quite often out here in the country. So after hearing our neighbors generators running, we decided to give it a try, and WOW, we had power for the entire house! We had to watch the Cleveland/Pittsburgh game, and while it was not a good outcome for us Browns fans, it was nice to be able to watch the game, while doing a load of laundry too!

The boys were out of school Monday-Wednesday, which left Clayton helping Dad clearing the trees, while Andrew worked at his job at Chick-Fil-A. We had 4 - 5 trees split and we lost portions of these trees. It makes me sad to lose any trees, because they truly help keep our

house cool, and they are great shade trees for photography! Sometimes I think I wouldn't mind losing some of our walnut trees, because I bet we have 1000 walnuts laying on the ground, the driveway, the back patio, the front sidewalk......you get the idea.

I still have friends that don't have power, and that would be awful. My prayers are with you!

WALKING CLASSIC

Okay, on Sunday, September 21st I am going to walk in the New Albany Walking Classic, which is a 10k walk, or 6.5 miles. I have been training since the end of June, following their training schedule. I have to admit, I have really enjoyed walking, and sometimes I mix it up with a jog, but not too often! But since August and September tend to be the jump start for my busy season, this past month has been quite difficult getting my training in! It will be a week tomorrow since I have done any walking, and I fear I'm going to be close to last on Sunday. But that's okay. The whole purpose for me was to join some of my girlfriends and striving towards a goal, and having a sense of satisfaction, and to keep us disciplined with our walking schedule. The other "problem" was that my one friend, didn't sign up in time so she got closed out of the walk. That is a bummer, and I was really looking forward to us walking together. We will just have to sign up for some other cause and walk in those too!! So if you want to come out Sunday to cheer me on, the walk begins at 9am on Fodor Drive. 3000 people walking....yikes! Good Luck in finding me!!

SUPER 16!!

Well our Andrew turned 16 back in June, and he has been counting the days to get his driver's license. After a couple of months of "in class" and "driving" classes, on August 21st we drove to the Ohio BMV to have him take his test. While we were waiting for the examiner to come and take him out, he was already deciding that he wasn't going to wear his school uniform shirt to have his picture taken for his driver's license. I was laughing at him and applauded his

confidence that he was going to pass. Two days prior to his test, he parked my car in our garage, got out and headed into the house with the lights on and the car running! Oh yikes....

He not only passed with 100% on his driving, he only had 2 points taken off his maneuverability test because he started over.

It is very "unnerving" to watch your 16 year old pull out of the driveway the next morning, with his 13 year old brother in tow. That's where our faith in God comes in. I don't know why I think God needs my help, so I continue to pray for safety and protection in all of our family's lives!

MO HALL FOOTBALL JAMBAREE 2008

Back on August 16th, the Columbus Crusaders Middle School teams attended the Mo Hall Football Jambaree held at DeSales High School. We have 3 middle school teams, and this event hosted 6 teams where they played 10 offensive and 10 defensive plays each. There were 2 teams from the Dayton area and one team from Columbus and the competition was fierce. I had the pleasure of meeting Ohio State's own 2005 graduate Maurice Hall. Maurice introduced himself to me while I was standing on the sidelines and was so kind and great to talk with. I found out that we both graduated from Brookhaven, although my graduation was a lot earlier than his! Maurice holds various football and cheerleading camps during the summers, and you might want to check out his organization's website at www.willyouwin.org. He was very gracious and allowed me to snap a picture of him and Clayton along side each other. Thanks Maurice!

CRAZY BUSY!!

Sorry it has been awhile since I've posted, but I just want to review my past week or so with you. I know we are all busy, and I want you to know that I hope to get to blogging next week. Some major milestones have been accomplished in our family. Summer has ended and the boys started back to school this past Wednesday, August 20th. Surprisingly, they were ready to go back, but mostly to see their school friends that they don't get to see too much during the summer. I have been composing the football program for the Columbus Crusaders the past 2 - 3 weeks, which is finally complete as of today. All 60 pages.

Andrew got his driver's license yesterday, so this is the official announcement to stay off the roads!! Ha ha....seriously though, he aced his driving test, and had 2 points taken off of his maneuverability portion, just because he stopped and started over. He drove himself and Clayton to school today. Of course I took pictures, but will post them next week too.

Clayton had a football scrimmage last Saturday, and was pleased to meet Maurice Hall, former running back for OSU!! Super nice man, and even posed for a picture with Clayton. His first football game is in September, with another scrimmage scheduled for tomorrow.

I will be photographing the BWYAA football league Saturday and Sunday, after just finishing up photographing the Columbus Crusaders, from 5th-12th grade.

So, I promise I will post next week with pictures!!!

FOOTBALL!!!

OK, so it has truly begun. The 2008 football season. Just finishing up baseball season, (which is my favorite sport) we are in FULL swing with football. I'm not just talking about our youngest son Clayton playing for the Columbus Crusaders. (www.columbuscrusaders.org). On our way home from our family vacation, we were able to throw in an added bonus trip to Cleveland to attend the "Cleveland Browns Family Night". A great place to see the players up close and personal as you can see from the pictures , but even better to get autographs from those players. And as fate would have it, determined Clayton

was able to obtain autographs from Braylen Edwards, Josh Cribbs, and Derek Anderson!

You see, Clayton's middle name is Mathew.....hmmm....if you know anything about the Cleveland Browns you will know that there was a linebacker by the name of Clay Matthews....(which all of this info came out of my husband's mouth after the birth certificate was signed!) Regardless, we had a fantastic time for our first time attending family night, and we will definitely return. It was great and gave us a kick start to football season, which I do love too!

VACATION TIME!

Alright, so we've just returned home from our annual vacation to Gull Lake. 4 years in a row now, and we've already booked our reservation for next year! What is Gull Lake? A beautiful spring fed lake, complete with gorgeous sunsets and sunrises (so I'm told on the sunrises), where we rent a house for a week with 8 other families, mostly friends from our kids' school. But the whole purpose behind Gull Lake is Gull Lake Ministries. "Vacation with a Purpose". A non-denominational family church camp, located in Michigan, and you have to check it out! The weekly schedule includes family huddle, break out sessions for kids in their age groups ranging from infants through senior high school, incredible teaching for the adults, family fun theme nights like "Funtastic Olympics", great food, great water time, incredible time for walks, bike riding, and a recreation field that includes a zip line, screamer swing, climbing wall and pamper pole. And yes, I've done all of those activities except the pamper pole! Its only a 4 1/2 hour drive from our house, and its a great time to regroup with your family. Welcome to my blog site! Since I am a digital photographer, I know that I should be completely up with all of the latest technology. Believe me, I have come a long way. My 16 year old knows far more than I do, and since I don't utilize any of the popular online communication sites, I thought it would be best to publish my own blog. This is where I will let you know what is going on with my family, and my business, Siders Photography.

I will introduce my family to you and let you know that I have been married for 19 years to Steve Siders. He is a true artist and has his own concrete construction business. He has the best "concrete swirls" around! Stamping, coloring...ooh la la....it is fun to see his creations. It is a very physically demanding job, and while he has already had one hip replacement, he continues with pouring and designing and we appreciate all he does.

Andrew is our 16 year old and is scheduled to get his driver's license next month. Am I ready?

Does it matter? Oh, I am bittersweetly excited as we all journey through another phase of life. Needless to say, lots of prayers will be going up minute by minute! Andrew is truly an artist as well as he is a sophomore in high school participating in plays, choir and being social. He is currently enrolled in Saturday morning art classes at CCAD (Columbus College of Art and Design) and he is my inspiration. He puts motivation and thoughts into my head and pushes me to be extremely creative with my photography. I hope to incorporate him into my business.

Clayton is our 13 year old and has more energy than any kid I know. He played 6 baseball games in 5 days, then started this past Monday at OSU for basketball camp. Friday and Saturday this weekend he is playing in a 3 on 3 basketball tournament, along with a doubleheader baseball game Saturday afternoon! He then has about 2 weeks off and football practice begins in August. He doesn't sit still for very long and one day he came home from school in his usual fare stating that his science teacher (Mrs. Gilliland) told him he would probably own his own business someday. "Those who have lots of energy usually end up owning their own businesses", she told him. Hmmm.....I do wonder what she was really trying to tell him!

Animals? Oh yes, we have those too. 1 dog and 4 cats. We will get more into that later.
